Alt country heroes The Old 97’s are stopping at Mr. Smalls Wednesday to dive into their deep catalog that spans 23 years and 10 full length albums. The bands last release was in 2014 titled “Most Messed Up.” This was a raw energetic collection that was widely considered their best work since 2001’s “Satellite Riders.” The title track and “This is the Ballad,” are must listen material and are instant classics.

The band consisting of Rhett Miller, Murry Hammond, Ken Bethea and Philip Peeples were last in town in 2014 and 2013 for a show at Mr. Smalls and in 2008 at Diesel Club Lounge. You’ll have a chance to see them again at Mr. Smalls with American Aquarium. The all ages show starts at with door at 7pm. Tickets are $22 day of show and can be purchased at ticket web.
